Everything is bigger in Texas, especially our love for the Lone Star State. Here in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, you can spot our state pride everywhere you look, and for good reason. When you think back to the journey that made Texas what it is today, it’s no wonder that our residents are loud and proud. From 1820 to 1836 there were many battles and countless sacrifices made as Texans fought for our independence from Mexico. On March 2, 1836, 59 delegates signed a handwritten document proclaiming Texas free of rule by Mexico, and the Republic of Texas was born at last.
As Texans, we are always ready to represent our great state, especially here in the Cowboy Capital of the World. Discover some of our favorite Texas and western-inspired pieces below. Designed right here in beautiful Texas Hill Country, these handcrafted pieces are perfect for Texas Independence Day.
With Texas being the second-largest state in the US, there are countless things to do and see all over. Whether you’re strolling and shopping your way through Cowtown, munching on some award- winning barbecue in Llano, or heading out to the local honky-tonk to dance the night away, our Engraved Texas Pendant and matching earrings are the perfect addition for any occasion, big or small!
Fashioned after the iconic Colt Revolver, “the gun that won the west,” our timeless Peacemaker Pendant reminds us of the rugged day-to-day life of the original Texas settlers. From cattle drives to high-noon duels on main street, this piece encapsulates that time in history, and keeps us connected to our western roots and the cowboy way. Available in Silver & Black as well as Rose Gold & Black, this pendant will add wild west flair to your duds. Ladies, make it a set with our available matching earrings as well!
The best and biggest way to show pride for the Lone Star State has got to be a belt buckle! Our Lone Star State Buckle is just what you need to buckle up your Wrangler jeans all day or night—whether you’re working on the ranch, leading a trail ride, or two-steppin’ the night away at the local honky-tonk! Featuring both bright silver and oxidized silver, as well as a red, white, and blue painted Texas, this piece will showcase your Texas pride wherever your adventures lead you.
Hyo Silver started in Bandera, Texas in 1999, and our roots are firmly planted in the Texas Hill Country. When the opportunity came about to purchase and restore a piece of that history to its former glory, Jo and the Hyo Silver team met the challenge. Built in 1860, the two-story native limestone building is located at the corner of Cedar and 11th Street and has worn many different hats over the years. It has been a bank, school, home, various retail stores and businesses, and housed the telephone switchboard for Bandera, according to members of the Bandera County Historical Commission. In front of the building is a Texas historical marker proclaiming the site the center of the town of Bandera back in the early years.
It’s safe to say that 11th Street is filled with pieces of Bandera’s history. Just two doors down from us is the World-Famous 11th Street Cowboy Bar, owned and operated by James McGroarty. James himself was born in the upstairs front room of what is now Hyo’s Showroom.
